The playful interiors create a home away from home for the vision impaired children and young people that use the centre daily. As described by an RSBC beneficiary, ‘The colour scheme helps massively. It’s all very inspirational; we don’t need to think of our disabilities as limitations. We can do anything we want.’
We are immensely proud to have the project recognised — the achievement is a testament to our fantastic collaborative relationship with the RSBC and its beneficiaries. A big congratulations to all involved!
We are thrilled to share that the RSBC Life Without Limits Centre has won Gold in the ‘Colour in Architecture’ Category at this year’s WAN Awards — a celebration of innovative and imaginative architecture worldwide.
The centre, designed to support the Royal Society for Blind Children with its mission to empower young blind and partially sighted people, uses colour in a non-institutional manner to create a vibrant, inspiring and accessible space for the children and their families.
