Located on Long Lane, within the Barbican & Smithfield Area Destination City and the Culture Mile, The Resident, Farringdon is a vibrant new hotel proposal, comprising 128 guestrooms, a library lounge, and a pocket garden for guests and the public to enjoy. Once open, it will be the fifth London site for the brand. The proposed scheme also provides an opportunity for a third-party operated restaurant, café or retail space at ground floor, tailored to the needs of the local community.
Developed with sustainability at its heart, the hotel will enhance and future-proof the site. EPR’s proposals seek to reduce the scheme’s carbon footprint through a series of thoughtful design solutions, including optimising the façade’s design to minimise energy consumption and solar gain, introducing a low embodied carbon ventilation system and vastly improving on-site biodiversity.
The project is also an exciting opportunity to contribute to and support the changing nature of Farringdon and the Barbican and Smithfield area. The Resident, Farringdon will offer guests a home-from-home experience, from which they can explore this thriving neighbourhood, with its bars, restaurants, galleries, museums and performance venues only steps away.
