The new routes and linked public spaces are designed to bring life and vitality into the area. A public roof garden was incorporated at the heart of the scheme and provides a peaceful sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Victoria. An extensive public art programme was used to articulate and punctuate the public space and routes through the development.
Cardinal Place is an award-winning mixed-use scheme situated in the heart of London’s Westminster, close to Victoria station and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. The development provides 528,500ft2 of office space and 90,500ft2 of retail and restaurant accommodation across two buildings linked by a large department store. EPR’s design opened up what was once the relatively inaccessible heart of the site for public use through the creation of new direct links from Victoria Street, one of which opens up a vista on Westminster Cathedral immediately to the south.
