At 1:50 scale, the Colloco model explores a small section of the building's intricate façade, sculpted with five varying tones of blue-glazed bricks. The model has been hand built by our on-site modelmakers, using a diverse mixture of materials including timber, acrylic, styrene and steel.
Using a combination of traditional and contemporary manufacturing techniques, we were able to replicate the proposed colours and textures of the building's fabric. Acrylic sheets of different colours were laser cut and etched into a brickwork pattern.
The steel support beams were hand burnished with a flame gun to produce an authentic tempered, weathered effect. Over 1000 individual elements were then hand-assembled.
