We are excited to share that EPR Project Director David Scowcroft and EPR Associate Director Charlotte Partridge joined Eliza Grosvenor, Head of Programme for the London Festival of Architecture, for the latest episode of the LFA’s Building Sounds podcast.
Recorded from inside The OWO, the episode delves into the historic and contemporary voices behind the project, uncovering the hidden stories that emerged during EPR’s eight-year transformation of Britain’s Old War Office into a world-class hospitality and residential destination. Our remarkable journey is explored through the lens of this year’s festival theme, ‘Voices’, which encourages us to listen to and amplify the narratives that shape our spaces, stories and communities.
In response to the theme, the episode celebrates the many talented individuals and disciplines that contributed to the restoration of this iconic London landmark. From the consultants and structural engineers to the eleven distinguished interior design studios and artisan craftspeople, each played a vital role in bringing The OWO to life. David and Charlotte also reflect on the many voices that have shaped the building’s past, present and future — from historical figures such as Winston Churchill and Lord Kitchener to its new residents, hotel guests and the public, who can now experience The OWO for the first time in its history.
